Barnabé JANIN

Teacher at the CNSMD in Lyon (early music department), medieval fiddle player and singer, member of the ensemble Obsidienne and artistic director of the ensemble Coclico, he is the author of a practical manual of Renaissance polyphonic improvisation, Chanter sur le livre (Symétrie, 2014), and the creator of the Youtube educational channel Super librum cantare.

Antoine SCHNEIDER

Antoine Schneider teaches music theory and counterpoint at the Geneva and Berne Hautes Ecoles de Musique.

As part of his teaching activities, he specialises in musical improvisation in the Renaissance period. He is regularly invited to give master classes throughout Europe, and improvises with the ensemble Les Poissons Rouges in Zurich. 

As well as teaching, he performs as a violinist and musical director of several ensembles.

Jean-Yves HAYMOZ

A former teacher at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Lyon and the Haute École de Musique de Genève, he is now retired. He has worked to create a course in writing and musical culture based on historical sources, in order to train historically informed performers of early music. He has also taken an interest in improvisation, the performance of plainsong in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, rhetoric and pedagogy.

 He is founder and director of the vocal ensemble Alternatim, specialising in the performance of Renaissance and Baroque plainchant, and co-founder of Le Chant sur le Livre, a vocal ensemble devoted to polyphonic improvisation in the Renaissance style.
